Atlanta Councilmembers Invite Residents to “Meet Your Georgia State Senator” Town Hall

ATLANTA. Ga — Atlanta residents will have the opportunity to engage directly with state lawmakers. This will occur during an upcoming Town Hall Meeting. A Q&A session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

The event, titled “Meet Your Georgia State Senator,” is being hosted by Atlanta City Councilmembers Andrea L. Boone (District 10) and Eshé Collins (Post 3 At-Large). Organizers say the town hall aims to provide a platform for community members to learn about legislative priorities. It also allows them to discuss issues affecting neighborhoods across the city.

The meeting will feature several Georgia state senators representing districts in and around Atlanta, including:

  • State Sen. Jaha Howard (District 35)
  • State Sen. Rashaun Kemp (District 38)
  • State Sen. Sonya M. Halpern (District 39)

Residents will be capable of asking questions. They will hear updates on state legislation. They can also join in discussions about policies impacting their communities.

According to organizers, the event aims to strengthen communication between elected officials and residents. It also provides updates on issues currently being addressed at the state level.

Community members are encouraged to attend. They can share concerns about local priorities including education and economic development. Public safety and neighborhood infrastructure are also important topics.

The town hall will take place at the C.T. Martin Recreation Center, located at 3021 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW in Atlanta, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Officials say the open forum will allow residents to interact directly with their elected representatives. Residents will also learn more about the work being done at the Georgia State Capitol.
